In an effort to try out new things, HappyFeet announced that Augustus “XRAG” Casanada, a Dota 2 player from India-based gaming organization Signify, will be temporarily standing in for Jayjay “yAj” Garan.
In a Facebook post made by HappyFeet, the Philippine-based Dota 2 squad stated that XRAG will only play for the team during the DreamLeague Season 8 SEA Qualifiers, the second major tournament of the Dota Pro Circuit.
When asked about the roster change, HappyFeet management stated that none of the changes are official and they just wanted to ‘test new things out’.
XRAG is an Australia-based, 8K MMR Dota 2 player from Maragondon, Cavite. He has been joining Dota 2 tournaments since 2015 and was able to play for Can’t Say Wips and Da Teletubbies (DTT) before joining Signify earlier this year.
Last month, HappyFeet topped headlines after announcing their inability to attend the ESL One Hamburg 2017, the first major tournament of the Dota Pro Circuit, due to visa issues. They qualified to the $1,000,000-tournament after defeating Clutch Gamers in the grand finals of the SEA Qualifiers.
With standins usually being clear foreshadowing for roster changes in the esports scene, is HappyFeet trying out a new replacement for Yaj?
