TNC Pro Team and S1 Lykos are about to take on their first big LAN of the year in Changzhou, China. The grand prize pool of $1,500,000 is the biggest so far in 2017 and top teams from all over the globe are in attendance.

The interesting thing about this tournament is its one-nationality-per-team rule. 24 teams will be vying for the Champion's purse of $800,000. Team Ukraine featuring Dendi and Resoluti1on will be one of the teams to beat in the international meet as they parade an extremely formidable roster. Peruvian team Infamous could also be in the hat of things to look out for. Star carry Alonso Kotaro Hayama Leon was part of the Unknown.Xiu roster who participated in The International 5 after winning Americas Open Qualifier. Swedish organization Alliance will also be sending a team into the tournament as well as Filipino rivals Signature.Trust from Thailand.

TNC Strikes Back

After struggling in the latter part of 2016, TNC looks to once again reach the upper echelons of competitive Dota. The return of Raven from Malaysia after a brief stint with Fnatic will be an incredible boost for the squad. Explosive playmaker Tims will bring his exciting brand of play in the roaming support position. Known as the best Earth Spirit player in the Philippines, the young gun will be tasked with pressuring the enemy cores from the get-go. SamH has already affirmed himself as one of the best offlaners to come out of the Philippines. Will the offlaner prove himself amidst the world's best?

The team has looked lost since DeMoN and company departed the organization after their dazzling The International 6 run. Though they sadly will miss the services of long time captain Eyyou who has joined the reincarnation of Happy Feet For TNC, this is the best chance they have to reclaim some of their lost glory.

Going Alpha

S1 Lykos have picked up veteren Jacko after star carry Nando returned to Execration. Jacko has spent the majority of the last year with Malaysia-based squad Power Gaming. The mid player used to be one of Philippines' most promising talent but an undesirable match-fixing scandal derailed his career. For Jacko, this is a chance at redemption. S1 Lykos will also be parading experienced offlaner byb in Changzhou. Byb recently served as the coach of Execration and was also instrumental for S1 Lykos in the APAC qualifiers late last year.

Long have S1 Lykos struggled in breaking into the top-tier ranks of Philippine Dota usually playing second fiddle to Execration and Mineski-Dota. Though the team has only been around since early 2016, a win or even a top-half finish would immensely raise the stock of this up-and-coming squad.

WESG 2016 will take place from January 12-15 in the Changzhou Olympic Sports Center. Mineski.net will be bringing you the latest news while MineskiTV will be streaming the action live on Twitch.
