It's playoffs season across the world as the SEA League of Legends teams fight for supremacy in the Garena tournament at Vietnam, the International Wild Card Invitational's competing roster is slowly being filled in, and the five major LoL regions are entering their respective summer playoffs. Today, the Chinese LPL tournament is set to begin their summer playoffs. Which team will book their direct ticket to the 2016 League of Legends World Championship?

The Rivalry

Once again, two teams are lying in the wings waiting in the Semifinals stage of the brackets after receiving byes from topping their respective groups. The two teams are still EDward Gaming and Royal Never Give Up. RNG took the playoffs gold in the previous split, and went on to represent China in the Mid Season Invitational. This summer season has been a rocky ride for RNG however, as they dropped three matchups across the group stage.

EDG replaced their former mid-laner, the god-killer PawN, and replaced him with former SK Telecom T1 substitute mid-laner. The recent roster change has definitely worked out in their favor, as they ended the group stage without dropping a single matchup. The LPL Playoffs is setting up to be another clash of these two rival teams. Of course, not everything is set in stone, because teams like Team WE, and Snake eSports are also prime candidates for the finals spot.
