Team Secret is the fourth team directly invited to the upcoming Manila Masters this May.
Since their post-TI6 roster revamp, Team Secret has been a powerful team on the up-and-up.
The frontline Asian duo of MP and MidOne has turned the former TI-winning team into versatile force complete with European star players KheZu and pieliedie. Add to that Puppey, one of the most veteran Dota 2 captains in the esport today with no signs of rolling over for the youngbloods in the scene.
Their invitation to the Masters marks perhaps not any particular recent standout performance but rather their consistently good placement in tournaments of all scales. From championing the FACEIT Invitational and the Asus ROG Masters, to claiming the European qualifier slot for the Kiev Major, Team Secret has earned the Manila Masters invite with potential to spare.
This also happens to be just after the organization's internal changes, with John Yao replacing Kemal Sadikoglu as CEO of the team. The organization hopes to rectify previous bad press, and move forward with a renewed commitment to its role as one of the first player-owned esports organizations in the world.
If nothing else, the Manila Masters is their shot at reclaiming some of the team's old glory. Could Puppey and company become the world's first Dota 2 Masters?
