Riot Games have found themselves on the losing end of a lawsuit in a Dutch court after a retired Soccer player, Edgar Davids, claimed that the League of Legends developers used his likeness for the Striker Lucian skin. Riot claimed that the resemblance was negligible, but the Dutch court hearing the case disagreed.

It didn't help Riot's efforts to disprove the claim when a 2014 post from a former Riot QA Analyst explicitly stated that the Striker Lucian design was "inspired by Edgar Davids." The Dutch court has now tasked Riot Games to come up with the statics on just how much the Striker Lucian skin earned in the Netherlands, and will base Davids compensation on the total amount earned.
