Due to WESG's rule which specifically mandates all team to be filled with players who are legal citizens of the same country, Team Canada, also known as OCAN, was born. This rule also allows Fly and Febby, who will be the team's reserve, to join the all-Canadian team despite being born in Israel and South Korea, respectively.

The Canadian all-star team will be competing for the WESG 2017 DOTA Americas Qualifiers: Canada on January 9 to 11 next year. Two regional slots are allotted for the Canada qualifiers. These two teams will be moving on to the WESG 2017 Americas Finals for the chance to attend the WESG 2017 LAN Finals in China next year.
