This second week of October, prepare to grasp a rare opportunity as this may be your chance to take the slot for Pinoy Gaming Festival (PGF ' 12).
With PGF '12 being the culminating event of the current season of the GIGABYTE Mineski Pro-Gaming league, it is no wonder that a preview of what is to come next year must take place; a premonition of the winds of eSports change, if you will.
Because of this, not only will the WC3 DotA championships be settled there, but there shall also be an 8-team Dota2 tournament in order to showcase which among the top teams have found their way ahead of everybody else in terms of transitioning into the future of eSports.
But more importantly, not only will this tournament decide who is the best Dota 2 team in the country as of now, but it will also serve as the national qualifiers for the Asian Cyber Games, with the top-placing team moving on to face representatives from other Asian nations as well.
Of these eight slots, four have already been decided: Pagibig.TnC, Dulo Ng Cavite, Crucio, and Ambush. With half of the seeds already taken, we are proud to tell you that the remaining half is now up for grabs! The remaining four slots will be broken down into the following:
- 1 Slot from the 1st Online Qualifier
- 2 Slots from LAN Qualifier to be held at MI Morayta
- 1 Slot from the 2nd Online Qualifier
What does this imply? This means that any team that wants to take a shot at the PGF Dota 2 event this year can try to qualify in any of the three qualifiers.
To make things even more interesting, the LAN Qualifier will have an additional prizepool of 5,000 PHP for the champion, with 3,000 and 2,000 PHP going to the second and third placers, respectively. So, what are you waiting for? Register now and see how well you can match up against an elite community in a game that is still in its mere infancy!
