FEU takes Aegis and P30k as first NCCL champions

Twelve Schools, P 60,000 Prize pool for the Three Deserving Teams, but only one champion, The National Cyber Collegiate League. Last week-end, May 5 and 6 during The PGF Summer Assembly, was a date to remember for all the twelve participating schools at the NCCL as they fought during the group stage matches last Saturday for the spot at the top 4 teams. Then came Sunday, as the top 4 teams were determined as they move closer for the NCCL Title.

The Infamous Aegis Cup, waiting for the deserving team to get him

During the top 4 matches, FEU remained consistent from the start as they've defeated CSB, XU and CIT-U, to grab a twice to beat advantage at the finals. XU, the crowd favorite, lost their chance for the title as they lost to PUP at the losers bracket. TIP on the other hand, survived the losers bracket when they defeated CSB and PUP for the slot at the losers bracket final.

When FEU defeated CIT-U at the winner's bracket finals. The Cebu based squad faced team TIP once again, in order to determine the team that is worthy of facing FEU at the NCCL finals. The match between the two schools at the loser's bracket match can be considered as one of the best matches that I've seen so far, because both schools truly showed their might and will to win when they faced each other. But only one team can have a chance to face FEU. TIP eventually won against CIT-U during a long battle at the loser's bracket match.

Finals came. FEU and TIP square-off for the Aegis Cup and the P30,000 championship prize. FEU didn't waste any of their momentum since the tournament's bracket matches as they manhandled TIP without having any difficulty. Eventually, TIP waved the white flag and made a GG call, to give way for FEU and for them to be called as the first ever champions of The NCCL.
